Special session at the Conference CSCC 2017 that takes place in Agia Pelagia of Irakleio, Crete, site: www.cscc.co
Title: Title ‘’5G architectures and networks’’
Aim
Current telecommunications networks were designed for the delivery of services such as voice, video, and data to be offered to a different number of terminals. Future 5G networks are promising to support a fast mobile and connected society through devices, sensors and IoT. 5G technologies will lead the way to a wide variety of new use cases, architectures, transmission means and business models. New machine to machine (M2M) and human machine type applications will be introduced that will make people’s communication quicker, and diversified. The above applications are promising to automate and mobilize a variety of industries, including automotive, energy, health, smart city, and media. The objectives of the special session are:
- Discuss recent trends in 5G developments
- Present new business trends with multitenancy and new business models
- Investigate new optical backhauling means in 5G technologies
- Present advanced platforms (controllers, orchestrators, educational, etc.)
- Assess the convergence of satellite to 5G technologies
Topics
- 5G architectures
- Optical backhauling in small cell architectures
- Satellite convergence to 5G
- 5G use cases
- Network slicing
- IoT and M2M applications in 5G
- Cloud and virtualization
- Traffic design and modelling
- Business modeling – financial analysis of applications
